Cass County is a county in the United States of Nebraska. Cass County had an official population of 24334 in 2000. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 25598, making it the 12th most populous county in Nebraska. The county has a total area of 566.21 square miles (1466.48 kmē), of which, 559.18 square miles (1448.27 kmē) of it is land and 7.03 square miles (18.21 kmē) of it is water, making it the 27th smallest by size in Nebraska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 24334 residents, 9161 households, and 6806 families in the county. The population density was 43.5 people per square mile (16.8/kmē), giving it the 13th most densely populated county among the Nebraska. There were 10179 housing units at an average density of 18.2 per square mile (7.03/kmē). The average household size was 2.63 people, and the average family size was 3.07 people. In the county the population was spread out, with 27.9% under the age of 18, 7% from 18 to 24, 29% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 25598, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 24940 White, 204 Black or African American, 84 American Indian, 141 Asian, 5 Native Hawaiian, and 224 from two or more races.
