Cass County is a county located in the United States of Minnesota. In 2000, county's population was 27150 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 28732, making it Minnesota's 36th largest county. It is spread over 2414.21 square miles (6252.78 square kilometre), of which, 2017.6 square miles (5225.56 square kilometre ) of it is land and 396.61 square miles (1027.22 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the seventh largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Minnesota.

The population density was 13.5 people per square mile (5.21/kmē), it is the 20th least densely populated county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. There were 21286 housing units at an average density of 10.6 per square mile (4.09/kmē). The average household size was 2.45 persons, and the average family size was 2.9 persons. In the Cass County, 25% of the population was under the age of 18, 6.1% were 18 to 24, 23% were 25 to 44, 27.9% were 45 to 64, and 18% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 101.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.6 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 28732, The racial makeup of the county was 24914 White, 107 Black or African American, 3155 American Indian, 92 Asian, 6 Native Hawaiian, and 458 from two or more races.
