Cass County is a United States county located in the United States of Michigan. As of 2000 the population was 51104. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 50185, It is the 35th largest in terms of population. It is spread over 508.46 sq mi (1316.91 square kilometre), of which, 492.18 square miles (1274.74 square kilometre ) of it is land and 16.29 square miles (42.19 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the smallest by total area among Michigan's county.

The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 50185, The racial makeup of the county was 45623 White, 2777 Black or African American, 435 American Indian, 310 Asian, 4 Native Hawaiian, and 1036 from two or more races.
