Cass County is a county located in Iowa, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 14684. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 13840, It is Iowa's 58th most populous county. It covers total area of 565.01 mi˛ (1463.37 square kilometre), of which, 564.33 square miles (1461.61 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.68 square miles (1.76 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 60th largest by area in the U.S. state of Iowa.

In the county the population was spread out, with 23.8% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 20.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 106.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 110.8 females. The July 2008 population estimate is 13840, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 13664 White, 35 Black or African American, 25 American Indian, 41 Asian, 5 Native Hawaiian, and 70 from two or more races.
