Cass County, Illinois is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 13695 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 13574, It is the 20th least populous county in the U.S. state of Illinois. It covers total area of 383.73 mi˛ (993.86 square kilometre), of which, 375.9 square miles (973.58 square kilometre) of it is land and 7.83 square miles (20.28 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 25th smallest by total area among Illinois's county.

In the county the population was spread out, with 25.4% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 101.3 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 105.5 females. In July 2008, its estimated population was 13574, The racial makeup of the county was 13210 White, 182 Black or African American, 26 American Indian, 60 Asian, 4 Native Hawaiian, and 92 from two or more races.
