Casey County is a one of the county from Kentucky's 120 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 15447 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 16214, It is the 72nd largest in terms of population. The county has a total area of 445.73 miē (1154.44 kmē), of which, 445.61 square miles (1154.12 kmē) of it is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 kmē) of it is water, it is the 22nd largest by area in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

The population density was 34.7 people per square mile (13.4/kmē), it is 21st least densely populated county in Kentucky. There were 7242 housing units at an average density of 16.3 per square mile (6.29/kmē). The average household size was 2.44 persons, and the average family size was 2.94 persons. In the county Population was distributed with 24.5% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 24.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.6 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 16214, The racial makeup of the county was 15933 White, 119 Black or African American, 48 American Indian, 11 Asian, 10 Native Hawaiian, and 93 from two or more races.
