Cascade County is one of the 56 county of Montana, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The county has a population of 80357 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 82026 in July 2008, making it Montana's fifth largest county. The county spans an area of 2711.65 square miles (7023.14 sq km), of which, 2697.9 square miles (6987.53 sq km) of it is land and 13.75 square miles (35.61 sq km) of it is water, it is the 21st largest by area in the U.S. state of Montana.

The population density was 29.8 people per square mile (11.51/kmē), it is fourth most densely populated county in Montana. There were 35225 housing units at an average density of 13.1 per square mile (5.06/kmē). The average household size was 2.41 people, and the average family size was 2.97 people. In the Cascade County, 26% of the population was under the age of 18, 9.1% were 18 to 24, 28.1% were 25 to 44, 22.8% were 45 to 64, and 14% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.7 males. Its population was estimated at 82026 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 90.64% White, 1.73% Black or African American, 4.55% American Indian, 0.73% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian, and 2.25% from two or more races.
