Carver County is a United States county located in the United States of Minnesota. The county has a population of 70205 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 90043, making it the 11th most populous county in Minnesota. The county encompasses an area of 376.15 mi˛ (974.22 sq km ), of which, 357.04 square miles (924.73 sq km) of it is land and 19.11 square miles (49.49 sq km) of it is water, it is the third smallest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 70205 people, 24356 households, and 18774 families living in the county. The population density was 196.6 people per square mile (75.91/km˛), making it the seventh most densely populated county in Minnesota. There were 24883 housing units at an average density of 69.7 per square mile (26.91/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.84 persons, and the average family size was 3.26 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 31.5% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 34.7% from 25 to 44, 19.5% from 45 to 64, and 7.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 90043, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 94.64% White, 1.58% Black or African American, 0.31% American Indian, 2.48% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.97% from two or more races.
