Carthage City, Leake County, Mississippi is a city located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of the city was 4637 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 4815, It is Mississippi's 71st largest by population . The city comprises an area of 9.4 sq mi (24.35 square kilometre), of which, 9.35 square miles (24.22 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 68th largest in terms of geographical size.
