Carroll County is one of the 115 county of Missouri, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. It is home to over 10285 people (2000 census). It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 9756, making it the 26th least populous county in Missouri. The county encompasses an area of 702.3 square miles (1818.95 sq km ), of which, 694.72 square miles (1799.32 sq km) of it is land and 7.57 square miles (19.61 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 29th largest by total area among Missouri's county.

In July 2008, its estimated population was 9756, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 96.48% White, 1.96% Black or African American, 0.32% American Indian, 0.11% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 1.12% from two or more races.
