Carrizozo Town is one of the town of Lincoln County, New Mexico, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. In 2000, town's population was 1036 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 1047, It is the 122nd largest by population in the U.S. state of New Mexico. The town extends throughout a territory of 2.71 sq mi (7.02 square kilometre ), giving it the 146th largest by total area among New Mexico.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1036 residents, 457 households, and 284 families in the town. The population density was 382.1 people per square mile (147.53/kmē), it is the 116th most densely populated town in the U.S. state of New Mexico. There were 514 housing units at an average density of 189.7 per square mile (73.24/kmē). The average household size was 2.18 people, and the average family size was 2.79 people.
