Carmel City is a city in the Hamilton County, Indiana, United States. The city has a population of 37733 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 66769, It is 19th most populous in Indiana. The city extends throughout a territory of 17.92 square miles (46.41 square kilometre ), of which, 17.81 square miles (46.13 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 26th largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana.
