The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 33933, It is the 30th most populous county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It has total area of 875.23 miē (2266.84 kmē), of which, 860.33 square miles (2228.24 kmē) of it is land and 14.9 square miles (38.59 kmē) of it is water, it is the 27th largest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
