Carlton City is a United States city located in the Carlton County, Minnesota, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 810 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 770, making it the 375th most populous in Minnesota. The city has a total area of 2.26 square miles (5.85 sq km), of which, 2.06 square miles (5.34 sq km) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 281st largest by total area among Minnesota.
