Carlisle City is a city located in Nicholas County, Kentucky, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 1917 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 2074, making it the 170th most populous in Kentucky. The city comprises an area of 1.28 sq mi (3.32 square kilometre), making it Kentucky's 236th largest by total area.
