Carlisle City is a one of the Lonoke County, Arkansas, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. It is home to over 2304 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 2408, It is the 117th most populous in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The city encompasses an area of 4.9 sq mi (12.69 sq km ), of which, 4.88 square miles (12.64 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, making it the 106th largest by size in Arkansas.

The population density was 471.7 people per square mile (182.12/kmē), it is the 276th most populated city in terms of population density. There were 1029 housing units at an average density of 210.9 per square mile (81.43/kmē). The average household size was 2.32 persons, and the average family size was 2.87 persons. The population's age distribution was 22.9% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 20.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 88.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.8 males. The median age of the city's population was 41.4 years, the median age of male residents at 38.4 and the median age of female residents at 44.6. The racial makeup of the city was 1988 White, 287 Black or African American, 12 American Indian, 5 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 12 from two or more races and Ohter races.
