Carl Junction City is a city in the Jasper County, Missouri, United States. In 2000, the population was 5294. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 7327, making it the 122nd most populous in Missouri. The city spans an area of 5.02 sq mi (13 sq km), of which, 4.88 square miles (12.64 sq km) of it is land and 0.14 square miles (0.36 sq km) of it is water, making it Missouri's 118th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5294 people in the city, organized into 1871 households, and 1534 families residing in the city. The population density was 1084.6 people per square mile (418.77/kmē), making it the 359th most densely populated city in Missouri.
