Caribou City is a one of the Aroostook County, Maine, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 8312 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 8093, It is the 17th most populous in the U.S. state of Maine. It covers total area of 80.18 sq mi (207.67 kmē), of which, 79.29 square miles (205.36 kmē) of it is land and 0.89 square miles (2.31 kmē) of it is water, it is the second largest by area in the U.S. state of Maine.

The population density was 104.8 people per square mile (40.46/kmē), it would be the fourth least densely populated city in the U.S. state of Maine.
