Cape May County, New Jersey is a county of the United States of New Jersey. The population of the county was 102326 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 95838, It is the second smallest in terms of population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 620.28 square miles (1606.52 square kilometre), of which, 255.19 square miles (660.94 square kilometre) of it is land and 365.09 square miles (945.58 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the sixth largest by total area in New Jersey. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 102326 people in the county, organized into 42148 households, and 27372 families residing in the county. The population density was 401 people per square mile (154.83/kmē), making it the sixth least densely populated county in New Jersey. There were 91047 housing units at an average density of 356.8 per square mile (137.76/kmē). The average household size was 2.36 persons, and the average family size was 2.94 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 22.3% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 25.6% from 45 to 64, and 20.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.8 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 95838, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 92.64% White, 5.06% Black or African American, 0.23% American Indian, 0.86% Asian, 0.05% Native Hawaiian, and 1.16% from two or more races.
