Cape Carteret Town is one of the town of Carteret County, North Carolina, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of town in 2000 stood at 1214 as per the Census data. The town's estimated population as of July 2008 was 1389, It is North Carolina's 356th largest by population . The town encompasses an area of 2.52 sq mi (6.53 square kilometre ), of which, 2.37 square miles (6.14 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.14 square miles (0.36 square kilometre) of it is water, making it North Carolina's 321st largest by total area.
