Canton City is a city located in McPherson County, Kansas, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of the city was 829 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 790, making it the 228th most populous in Kansas. The city has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.29 sq km), it is the 308th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kansas.
