Cannon County is a United States county located in the United States of Tennessee. It is home to over 12826 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 13804, It is the 17th least populous county in the U.S. state of Tennessee. The county spans an area of 265.71 square miles (688.19 kmē), of which, 265.64 square miles (688 kmē) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 kmē) of it is water, it is the 14th smallest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 48.3 people per square mile (18.65/kmē), it is 30th least densely populated county in Tennessee. In the county the population was spread out, with 25.4% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 23.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 or older. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 13804, The racial makeup of the county was 13365 White, 253 Black or African American, 50 American Indian, 20 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, and 113 from two or more races.
