Campbell County is a county in the United States of South Dakota. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Campbell County is home to 1782 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 1352, giving it the third smallest population among South Dakota's county. It has total area of 771.34 sq mi (1997.76 sq km), of which, 735.79 square miles (1905.69 sq km) of it is land and 35.54 square miles (92.05 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 44th largest by total area among South Dakota's county.

In the county the population was spread out, with 26.4% under the age of 18, 3.5% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 22.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 99.3 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 101.7 females. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1352, The racial makeup of the county was 98.59% White, 0% Black or African American, 0.59% American Indian, 0.52% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 0.3% from two or more races.
