Cameron Parish, Louisiana is a parish located in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Cameron Parish is home to 9991 inhabitants. The parish's estimated population as of July 2008 was 7238, It is the second smallest parish by population in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The parish has a total area of 1931.6 sq mi (5002.82 square kilometre), of which, 1312.96 square miles (3400.55 square kilometre) of it is land and 618.63 square miles (1602.24 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the third largest by area in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Louisiana.

The population density was 7.6 people per square mile (2.93/kmē), making its Louisiana's least densely populated parish. There were 5336 housing units at an average density of 4.1 per square mile (1.58/kmē). The average household size was 2.76 people, and the average family size was 3.21 people. In the Cameron Parish, 28.4% of the population was under the age of 18, 9.4% were 18 to 24, 29.6% were 25 to 44, 21.9% were 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.4 males.
