Cameron County, Pennsylvania is a county located in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. Cameron County had an official population of 5974 in 2000. In July 2008, its estimated population was 5266, It is the smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is spread over 398.6 sq mi (1032.37 kmē), of which, 397.16 square miles (1028.64 kmē ) of it is land and 1.44 square miles (3.73 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 12th smallest by total area among Pennsylvania's county.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5974 people in the county, organized into 2465 households, and 1624 families residing in the county. The population density was 15 people per square mile (5.79/kmē), it is Pennsylvania's third least densely populated county. There were 4592 housing units at an average density of 11.6 per square mile (4.48/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.39 persons, and the average family size was 2.96 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 24.5% under the age of 18, 6% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 103.5 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 105.7 females. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 5266, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 5185 White, 30 Black or African American, 14 American Indian, 8 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, and 26 from two or more races.
