Camden County, North Carolina is a county of the United States of North Carolina. The county has a population of 6885 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 9682, making it North Carolina's fourth smallest county. The county has a total area of 305.7 sq mi (791.76 sq km), of which, 240.68 square miles (623.36 sq km) of it is land and 65.02 square miles (168.4 sq km) of it is water, it is the 15th smallest by area in the U.S. state of North Carolina.

In the county Age distribution was 24.5% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.9 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 9682, The racial makeup of the county was 7939 White, 1527 Black or African American, 34 American Indian, 74 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 106 from two or more races.
