Camden County, New Jersey is a county located in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The county has a population of 508932 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 517234, making it New Jersey's eighth largest county. Its area is just over 227.58 sq mi (589.43 sq km), of which, 222.3 square miles (575.75 sq km) of it is land and 5.28 square miles (13.68 sq km) of it is water, making it New Jersey's fifth smallest county by total area.

The population density was 2289.4 people per square mile (883.94/kmē), giving it the seventh most densely populated county among the New Jersey. There were 199679 housing units at an average density of 898.2 per square mile (346.8/kmē). The average household size was 2.68 people, and the average family size was 3.23 people. The population's age distribution was 26.8% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.1 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 517234, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 375046 White, 107629 Black or African American, 1723 American Indian, 23981 Asian, 416 Native Hawaiian, and 8439 from two or more races.
