Camden County is a United States county located in the United States of Missouri. In 2000, county's population was 37051 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 40664, It is Missouri's 28th most populous county. The county has a total area of 708.86 mi˛ (1835.94 square kilometre), of which, 655.14 square miles (1696.8 square kilometre) of it is land and 53.71 square miles (139.11 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 27th largest by area in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Missouri.

The population density was 56.6 people per square mile (21.85/km˛), it is the 32nd most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Missouri. In the county the population was spread out, with 20.3% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 23.3% from 25 to 44, 31.4% from 45 to 64, and 19% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.5 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 40664, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 97.04% White, 0.8% Black or African American, 0.54% American Indian, 0.52% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.06% from two or more races.
