Camden City, Benton County, Tennessee is a city located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 3828 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 3658, It is the 117th largest by population in the U.S. state of Tennessee. The city has a total area of 22.6 square miles (58.53 sq km), of which, 11.1 square miles (28.75 sq km) of it is land and 11.5 square miles (29.78 sq km) of it is water, making it Tennessee's 25th largest by total area. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Tennessee.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3828 people, 5369 households, and 3232 families living in the city. The population density was 344.9 people per square mile (133.17/kmē), it is Tennessee's 104th least densely populated city. There were 1840 housing units at an average density of 165.8 per square mile (64.02/kmē). The average household size was 2.19 persons, and the average family size was 2.81 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 20.1% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 26% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 81.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 77.4 males. The median age was 43.9 years, The median age of males and females living in Camden City was 40.1 and 47.5 years respectively. The racial makeup of the city was 93.08% White, 5.33% Black or African American, 0.26% American Indian, 0.24% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.78% from two or more races and 0.31% Other races.
