Cambridge City is a United States city located in the Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 101355 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 105596, It is the fifth largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 7.13 mi˛ (18.47 sq km), of which, 6.43 square miles (16.65 sq km) of it is land and 0.7 square miles (1.81 sq km) of it is water, it is the 75th largest by area in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.

As of the census of 2000, there were 101355 people, 42615 households, and 17595 families residing in the city. The population density was 15766.1 people per square mile (6087.33/km˛), it is Massachusetts's third most densely populated city. There were 44725 housing units at an average density of 6955.7 per square mile (2685.61/km˛). The average household size was 2.03 and the average family size was 2.83. The median age of the city's population was 30.4 years, the median age of male residents at 29.4 and the median age of female residents at 31.6. The racial makeup of the city was 68.1% White, 11.92% Black or African American, 0.29% American Indian, 11.88% Asian, 0.08% Native Hawaiian, 4.56% from two or more races and 3.19% Other races.
