Camas County, Idaho is a county located in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 991 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1126, making it Idaho's second smallest county. It is spread over 1079.02 miē (2794.65 kmē), of which, 1074.96 square miles (2784.13 kmē ) of it is land and 4.06 square miles (10.52 kmē) of it is water, making it Idaho's 29th largest county by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 991 people in the county, organized into 396 households, and 287 families living in the county. The population density was 0.9 people per square mile (0.35/kmē), it is second least densely populated county in Idaho. There were 601 housing units at an average density of 0.6 per square mile (0.23/kmē). The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 2.92. In the Camas County, 24.7% of the population was under the age of 18, 6.6% were 18 to 24, 28.2% were 25 to 44, 27.5% were 45 to 64, and 13% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 104.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.2 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 1126, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 95.65% White, 1.6% Black or African American, 0.62% American Indian, 0.18% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 1.95% from two or more races.
