Calloway County is a county in the United States of Kentucky. In 2000, county's population was 34177 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 36240 in July 2008, making it Kentucky's 30th largest county. It is spread over 410.79 sq mi (1063.94 kmē), of which, 386.25 square miles (1000.38 kmē ) of it is land and 24.53 square miles (63.53 kmē) of it is water, it is the 33rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Kentucky.

As of the census of 2000, there were 34177 people in the county, organized into 13862 households, and 8594 families residing in the county. The population density was 88.5 people per square mile (34.17/kmē), making its Kentucky's 30th most densely populated county. There were 16069 housing units at an average density of 41.6 per square mile (16.06/kmē). The average household size was 2.25 people, and the average family size was 2.79 people. Age range in the county was well distributed with 18.7% under the age of 18, 19.8% from 18 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 15% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 36240, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 33572 White, 1456 Black or African American, 74 American Indian, 786 Asian, 9 Native Hawaiian, and 343 from two or more races.
