Calhoun County is a United States county located in the United States of Michigan. The population of county in 2000 stood at 137985 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 135861, It is Michigan's 17th most populous county. It is spread over 718.44 square miles (1860.75 square kilometre), of which, 708.72 square miles (1835.58 square kilometre ) of it is land and 9.72 square miles (25.17 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 45th largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 194.7 people per square mile (75.17/kmē), it is Michigan's 18th most densely populated county. In the county Age distribution was 26% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 105.6 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 110.2 females. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 135861, The racial makeup of the county was 115663 White, 14146 Black or African American, 929 American Indian, 2109 Asian, 39 Native Hawaiian, and 2975 from two or more races.
