Caldwell County is a United States county located in the United States of North Carolina. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 77415 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 80059, It is North Carolina's 33rd most populous county. It is spread over 474.29 miē (1228.41 kmē), of which, 471.6 square miles (1221.44 kmē ) of it is land and 2.7 square miles (6.99 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 52nd largest by total area among North Carolina's county.

According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 80059, The racial makeup of the county was 74457 White, 4289 Black or African American, 212 American Indian, 413 Asian, 44 Native Hawaiian, and 644 from two or more races.
