Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 22185, making it California's 309th largest. The city encompasses an area of 13.15 square miles (34.06 sq km ), of which, 13.1 square miles (33.93 sq km) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 sq km) of it is water, making it the 256th largest by size in California.
