Caddo Parish is a United States parish located in the United States of Louisiana. As of 2000 the population was 252161. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the parish is 252895, making it Louisiana's fourth largest parish. It is spread over 936.9 miē (2426.56 kmē), of which, 881.99 square miles (2284.34 kmē ) of it is land and 54.91 square miles (142.22 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 18th largest by total area in Louisiana.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 252161 people, 97974 households, and 64980 families living in the parish. The population density was 285.9 people per square mile (110.39/kmē), it is the fifth most populated parish in terms of population density. There were 108296 housing units at an average density of 122.8 per square mile (47.41/kmē). The average household size was 2.51 persons, and the average family size was 3.11 persons. In the parish the population was distributed as follows: 26.8% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 22% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.9 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 252895, The racial or ethnic makeup of the parish was 127974 White, 118655 Black or African American, 1187 American Indian, 2395 Asian, 94 Native Hawaiian, and 2590 from two or more races.
