Butler County is a one of the county from Missouri's 115 counties and independent city, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 40867 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 41383, It is the 25th most populous county in the U.S. state of Missouri. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 698.97 miē (1810.32 kmē), of which, 697.54 square miles (1806.62 kmē) of it is land and 1.43 square miles (3.7 kmē) of it is water, making it Missouri's 31st largest county by total area.
