Butler County is a one of the county from Iowa's 99 counties, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 14644, It is the 55th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Iowa. Its area is just over 581.56 mi˛ (1506.23 square kilometre), of which, 580.38 square miles (1503.18 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.18 square miles (3.06 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 32nd largest by total area in Iowa.

For every 100 males there were 103.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 106.8 females.
