Butler City is one of the city of Bates County, Missouri, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. It is home to over 4209 people (2000 census). Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 4306, making it the 154th most populous in Missouri. The city extends throughout a territory of 3.86 sq mi (10 sq km ), making it Missouri's 156th largest by total area.
