Burley City is a city located in Cassia and Minidoka counties, Idaho, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 9316 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 9105, It is Idaho's 18th largest by population . The city encompasses an area of 4.24 sq mi (10.98 square kilometre ), of which, 4.12 square miles (10.67 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 30th largest by total area in Idaho. It is ranks 11 in the size of its inland waterways in Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9316 people in the city, organized into 3288 households, and 2375 families residing in the city. The population density was 2262 people per square mile (873.36/kmē), making its Idaho's 32nd most densely populated city. There were 3633 housing units at an average density of 881.8 per square mile (340.46/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.75 persons, and the average family size was 3.31 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 31.9% under the age of 18, 10% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 18.1% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.1 males. The median age was 30.9 years, The median age of males and females living in Burley City was 29.1 and 33.4 years respectively. The racial makeup of the city was 77.96% White, 0.21% Black or African American, 1.3% American Indian, 0.46% Asian, 0.08% Native Hawaiian, 2.83% from two or more races and 17.15% Other races.
