Bureau County is a county located in Illinois, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 35503. The July 2008 population estimate is 34933, It is 43rd most populous county in Illinois. It has total area of 873.3 miē (2261.84 kmē), of which, 868.56 square miles (2249.56 kmē) of it is land and 4.74 square miles (12.28 kmē) of it is water, it is the 11th largest in terms of geographical size.
