Bullock County is a one of the county from Alabama's 67 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The county has a population of 11714 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 10796, making it the third least populous county in Alabama. The county spans an area of 626.06 square miles (1621.49 sq km), of which, 625.01 square miles (1618.77 sq km) of it is land and 1.04 square miles (2.69 sq km) of it is water, it is the 21st smallest by area in the U.S. state of Alabama.

The population density was 18.7 people per square mile (7.22/kmē), it is Alabama's ninth least densely populated county. There were 4727 housing units at an average density of 7.6 per square mile (2.93/kmē). The average household size was 2.56 persons, and the average family size was 3.13 persons. The population's age distribution was 26.1% under the age of 18, 10.3% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 110.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 113.4 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 10796, The racial makeup of the county was 3144 White, 7499 Black or African American, 45 American Indian, 28 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 78 from two or more races.
