The county encompasses an area of 300.2 sq mi (777.51 sq km ), of which, 299.08 square miles (774.61 sq km) of it is land and 1.12 square miles (2.9 sq km) of it is water, it is the 66th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kentucky.
