Buffalo County is a county in the United States of Wisconsin. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 13804 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 13741, It is the sixth smallest in terms of population. Its area is just over 709.58 sq mi (1837.8 sq km), of which, 684.47 square miles (1772.77 sq km) of it is land and 25.11 square miles (65.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 23rd smallest in terms of geographical size.

In the county the population was spread out, with 25.1% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 23.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.4 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 13741, The racial makeup of the county was 13534 White, 26 Black or African American, 55 American Indian, 48 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, and 75 from two or more races.
