Buchanan Town is a town in the Botetourt County, Virginia, United States. As per the 2000 census, town has a population of 1233 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1219, It is Virginia's 234th largest by population . The town encompasses an area of 2.47 mi˛ (6.4 sq km ), of which, 2.42 square miles (6.27 sq km) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 sq km) of it is water, it is the 213th largest by area in the U.S. state of Virginia.
