Bryan County is one of the 159 county of Georgia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 23417 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 31173, making it the 56th most populous county in Georgia. It covers total area of 454.49 sq mi (1177.12 square kilometre), of which, 441.71 square miles (1144.02 square kilometre) of it is land and 12.78 square miles (33.1 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Georgia's 42nd largest county by total area.

The population density was 53 people per square mile (20.46/kmē), it is 86th most densely populated county in Georgia. Age range in the county was well distributed with 31.1% under the age of 18, 8% from 18 to 24, 31.9% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 7.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.1 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 31173, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 25272 White, 4783 Black or African American, 97 American Indian, 477 Asian, 23 Native Hawaiian, and 521 from two or more races.
