Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 72357, making it Texas's 36th largest. It covers total area of 43.42 square miles (112.46 sq km), of which, 43.34 square miles (112.25 sq km) of it is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 sq km) of it is water, it is the 46th largest by area in the U.S. state of Texas.
