Brunswick County is one of the 135 county of Virginia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. Brunswick County had an official population of 18419 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 17580, It is 85th most populous county in Virginia. The county comprises an area of 569.37 sq mi (1474.66 sq km), of which, 566.14 square miles (1466.3 sq km) of it is land and 3.23 square miles (8.37 sq km) of it is water, it is the 15th largest in terms of geographical size.

The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 17580, The racial makeup of the county was 7574 White, 9830 Black or African American, 20 American Indian, 46 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 109 from two or more races.
