Brownwood City is one of the city of Brown County, Texas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. Brownwood City had an official population of 18813 in 2000. Its population was estimated at 19140 in July 2008, It is 122nd most populous in Texas. The city encompasses an area of 12.6 mi˛ (32.63 sq km), makes it the 187th largest by total area in Texas.
