Brown County, Wisconsin is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. Brown County had an official population of 226778 in 2000. In July 2008, its estimated population was 245018, It is fourth most populous county in Wisconsin. It is spread over 615.42 square miles (1593.93 square kilometre), of which, 528.68 square miles (1369.27 square kilometre ) of it is land and 86.75 square miles (224.68 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 17th smallest by total area among Wisconsin's county.

The population density was 429 people per square mile (165.64/kmē), it is the fifth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. There were 90199 housing units at an average density of 170.6 per square mile (65.87/kmē). The average household size was 2.51 persons, and the average family size was 3.08 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 26.1% under the age of 18, 10.5% from 18 to 24, 31.9% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 10.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.9 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 245018, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 91.95% White, 1.86% Black or African American, 2.55% American Indian, 2.24% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.36% from two or more races.
